Shaolin Kung-Fu Masters Live
Salepage : Shaolin Kung-Fu Masters Live
This new display from the Shaolin temple’s army monks is undoubtedly more about the spectacle and less about the story than their prior yearly London shows.
The description is brief, with a voiceover reminding us about the battles these calm monks have witnessed, and how their kung fu is a spiritual response to the brutality they have witnessed, initially intended to protect nation and monastery.
Based on nature’s best fighting animals, the tiger, crane, snake, leopard, and dragon – with a couple of little monkey boys thrown in for good measure – 25 wood block-thwacking monks perform feats of daring, strength, and extreme physical endurance simply by channeling their chi (energies) in a mystical brain-body balance.
They somersault and backflip, shatter bricks and metal poles over each other’s heads, walk up and down knife steps, and balance on the points of spears.
There is also a human sandwich with the elements knife blades, monk, board of nails, monk, topped with a concrete slab that is then shattered with a sledge hammer, leaving the monks with barely even a wince – despite the spectators groaning and cringing the entire time.
The scaffolding set has little in common with the temples, pagodas, and bamboo of China’s Songshan mountain ranges in Henan, where the monks practice, and the hardcore techno music, while enhancing the tempo and adrenaline, is far from spiritual.
While seeing the beautiful and mystical art form of these world-renowned Zen Buddhist monks, you might pick up a fighting technique or two, but don’t attempt this at home.
The new Shaolin Wheel Of Life event is coming to the Midlands this autumn…
‘The Ultimate Masters Of Kung Fu’ (TIME OUT) are back in Birmingham with a new show.
This spectacle will captivate the audience with even more astonishing feats of power and ability.
Twenty Shaolin Monks and five young students have traveled from China’s legendary Shaolin Temple to display their martial arts prowess.
They astonish us with their mesmerizing and pain-defying skills in a crescendo of Kung-Fu routines.
The Shaolin Monks fly through the air on sharpened spears, break marble slabs with their heads, perform handstands on two finger tips, splinter wooden staves with their bodies, break bricks on their heads, and fly through the air in a series of incredible backflips using their heads rather than their hands.
Mind over matter abilities must be witnessed to be believed.
Think ‘KILL BILL,’ ‘CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON,’ and ‘HERO.’
This presentation is based on the Shaolin mythology and should not be attempted at home!
