Aiki Jo is currently accessible in three languages: English, Japanese, and French.

Morihiro Saito, 9th dan, effectively demonstrates the majority of the Iwama Aiki Ken and Aiki Jo curriculum on this second CD of a two-disc compilation. Saito Sensei collected and improved these ken and jo forms based on his weapons training directly under Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba. These DVDs provide the most extensive training on aikido weapons available, vividly depicting each sword and staff action in an easy-to-understand way.

There are 31 jo kata, 20 jo suburi, 31 jo kumijo, 10 kumijo, and 13 jo awase on the Aiki Jo DVD. Overdub of Japanese explanations in English.

Two additional films are included on this Aiki Jo DVD. The first film is unusual footage shot outdoors in Iwama in 1964. Saito Sensei is shown executing taijutsu fundamentals as well as ken and jo kata. Saito Sensei is just 36 years old, and this tape contains some of the master’s oldest surviving footage.

Saito Sensei’s jo performance at the 1981 All-Japan Aikido Demonstration is seen in the second film clip. Saito Sensei arrives in front of thousands of people and demonstrates the 31 jo kata with awase motions and the kumijo.
