The Trauma Center is proud to present its Sixth Annual Summer Training Institute! This intensive program, led by Senior Faculty from the Justice Resource Institute’s Trauma Center, delves into the complexities of trauma adaptation, cutting-edge interventions, and integrative approaches to healing for impacted children and adults.
Dr. Brown will introduce participants to her Skills System, which she developed to help traumatized adolescents and adults with cognitive challenges improve their self-regulation and executive functioning.
Individuals who have a history of trauma and/or behavioral health issues face cognitive difficulties that impair their ability to self-regulate. Individuals are affected by these deficiencies in the following ways:
gaining access to therapeutic interventions
Develop and maintain relationships; carry out goal-directed behaviors
This training will introduce participants to the Skills System, which is a user-friendly emotion regulation skills curriculum designed to be accessible to vulnerable learners. This session will provide participants with a few tangible additions to their toolbox as well as a foundation for more advanced Skills System learning.
