I’d been following Eric’s work for almost a year when I received an email looking for guinea pigs for a software he was developing. Having had wonderful success with Maximum Strength, I leaped at the chance. The curriculum was challenging yet fun. There was a strong emphasis on movement and flexibility, with several fillers used throughout the day. This was quite beneficial to me because I was experiencing problems with my rectus femoris. I opted to do the two sprint days because there was a lot of heavy lifting. I was amazed when my vertical went from 32 to 37 inches after rarely doing any jumping for four months. Not only did my vertical grow, but I also went from finishing at the back of the pack in our 110 yard sprints to winning every time. In terms of numbers, my deadlift grew by 30 pounds, my front squat increased by 25 pounds, my bench press climbed by 10 pounds, and my 3RM chin up improved by 25 pounds. I also gained 5 pounds, which surprised me because I hadn’t gained any weight in several months. For a non-individualized program, I believe Eric has done an excellent job of targeting most people’s deficiencies and creating a program on which you can actually work hard. I was severely out of balance at the start of this program, with my bottom body considerably stronger than my upper body, and I credit Eric for bringing me back into balance.
