Chris “The Westside Strangler” Brennan is a Mixed Martial Arts veteran who has competed in a variety of MMA tournaments, including PRIDE FC: To mention a few, Bushido 1, 2, and 12, UFC 35 and 16, CAGE RAGE 23, Gracie Fighting Championships 1 and 2, King of the Cage I, III, V, X, XI, and XV, and Bas Rutten Invitational. He was the Pride Bushido 1 winner, the inaugural UFC Lightweight Fight winner, and three times King of the Cage Middleweight World Champion, among many other honors and championships. He′s a Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and the owner of The Next Generation Fighting Academy and The Next Generation Sports Performance. He created an educational series of eight DVDs focusing on Freestyle Jiu Jitsu; Jiu Jitsu adapted for MMA. Jiu Jitsu became the heart of MMA combat because of Royce Gracie. Real Jiu Jitsu or BJJ matches are fought with bare knuckles and a Gi. Most tactics requiring the use of the Gi to submit the opponent do not work in the cage when competitors battle bare-chested. Chris Brennan, like many other competitors on the MMA circuit, focused on adapting the BJJ approach to fit in the cage. They isolated submission maneuvers that may be useful in an MMA ring or octagon and altered some of the others to work in a new combat context. Strikes From a Standing Position, Volume 1 Chris teaches jabs, crosses, hip power, stances and footwork, hooks, undercuts, shin strikes, front kicks, switch kicks, high kicks to the head, back leg kicks, knee strikes from the clinch, knee strikes to the thigh, mid section, and face, a variety of elbow strikes, shucks, foot and hand striking combos, strike defense, and much more. 50 minutes approximately

Submissions for Volume 5 Volume 1 Entries This tape has a wide range of submissions from diverse positions. Subs from the closed guard, neck crank and various arm locks, sissor head clamp, counters and escapes from armlocks, upside down american lock, bicep locks, armlock drills, triangle choke and variations, chokes from the bottom position, and guillitine from the guard are all included in this approx. 43 minute video.

Submissions for Volume 6 Volume 2 Submissions Volume 2 Here you will learn submissions from the mount and crosside, arm bars from the mount, guillitine from the mount, defense from a mounted position, keeping the mount, switching from mount to sidemount, american lock, various arm attacks and control from the side mount (approximately 40 minutes).

Kimura & Keylocks, Volume 7 Armlocks from the back, kimura grip defenses, applying the fundamental kimura grip and keylocks, arm wrapping, kimura from the ground while opponent has your back, kimura to armbar on the ground, increasing your position against opponent’s back, circling and obtaining his back, and placing your hooks in 35 minutes approximately

Back Attacks Volume 8 Chris demonstrates how to finish someone off once you’ve gotten behind them.
